You're worried about how online studying can help you pass the exam? Are review books or in person better? You need structure, you need to know how/what/and when to study. I've been tutoring since 2005 and back then, it was difficult to convince students that online tutoring was just as good as in person! NOW, online learning is much more the norm. But, when it comes to board exam prep, is it the same? I go over the specifics in this video below. Why online studying is EASIER and you can focus a lot better that way. You can learn more and take your study notes anywhere. Carrying textbooks is never fun. Let me help you! -Andrea, RRDH

Have fun teeth whitening! -Andrea, RRDH Are you confused about moving and what different states require to maintain your dental hygiene license? 5 min video and I will explain! Basically, it depends where you will be working. For example, if you took your dental hygiene education in Canada and wrote your board exam in Canada...but moving to the States, you will need to take the STATE exam. If you're moving within the STATES (not outside) you won't need to take the board exam again BUT your dental hygiene credentials may be different. Can you administer local anesthetic where you live now? We cannot do that everywhere. Can you have your own dental hygiene practice now? We cannot everywhere. Watch the video above for more details , its under 5 min so nice and fast for you! But, all in all, I suggest contacting your local dental hygiene association where you're locating to and they can guide you on EXACTLY what you need. Enjoy everyone! -Andrea, RRDH The American Academy of Periodontology Classifications are created to help dental hygienists diagnose and treat periodontitis. These guidelines should be followed so we are all consistent in our client charting. WE NEED --Up to date radiographs, and charting STAGING --Determine CAL (pockets and recession combined) and bone loss from radiographs GRADING --Does the client smoke? Do they have diabetes (uncontrolled)?, What is their percentage of bone loss? Example of a statement: Stage I, < 15% localized horizontal bone loss (teeth 17,36), Grade B (smokes 3 cigarettes a day, sometimes 5). Watch video below for templates and full details! Say what??! A recent post in a Facebook group I'm in - someone posted something along the lines of "My daughter wants to be a dental hygienist, I said NO WAY!!! What do you all think? I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy!" My thoughts below (although you probably already know what I think LOL). -Andrea What's inside my bag??? -- Hand Cream (BEST stuff ever!) - click here --Lipsense - click here --Nametag - click here --Bag - (pattern may not be available) - click here, my friend Alicia can hook you up! --FitBit - https://amzn.to/2lZ4KXZ --Loupes - https://www.orascoptic.com/ (for discount on hand cream and lipsense, join group here: www.facebook.com/group/lashesandkisses for 10% off Lipsense and 10% off hand cream!) A common question I get as a tutor is definitely 'how do I start to study?'. There is SO much material to know, but you don't want to study too much, or not enough for the boards. In my full Board Exam Prep Academy course, I teach students exactly what they need to know. I have all modules supplied for you, video lectures dating two years back (so lots to study!), mock exams, case studies, private facebook group between us and other students, and weekly live tutoring! But, if you want something concise right now, go ahead and download the FREE 10 week study guide on the main page here. I have one for dental assisting students and dental hygiene students. Good luck! Let me know if you need anything! -Andrea Dentalelle Owner + Tutor ---------------------------------------------------- --> Need more help? Sign up for the full Board Exam Prep Academy here, an online course giving you all the tools you need to pass the boards! With a current 99.4% success rate, I CAN help you pass. Been there and done that! I've been to school for dental assisting, hygiene (twice!) and restorative hygiene. I've had instructors that dislike me FOR SURE. Granted, I'm a confident one, and I wouldn't hesitate to correct the teacher EVER if I knew she was wrong. Is that bad? Well anyway... Worst part about an instructor 'not liking you'? She can make your student life hell...literally. Let me share some examples of what I had to go through (does crying everyday after clinic sound familiar??) and how I pushed through... -Andrea I can help! Look into the Dentalelle Student Program here, I will help you every step of the way! Full access to all tutoring, modules, lectures, mock exams, case studies and full support by me! The Dental Hygiene program is INTENSE, and that's putting it lightly! After all that hard work, sleepless nights, no life, studying like crazy, doing anything to get patients' for clinicals...now it's time to take the exam! After studying like crazy for the exam, and finally passing... now... It's time to interview for your first job! I've sat in on several interviews with work and I can give you some insight on what to say, what NOT to say, what to avoid, how to dress... Watch below! -Andrea I LOVE my loupes and can't work without them now. I mean, I CAN, but I feel I'm not able to see as well. I wish I had my loupes sooner! There are SO many out there and I recommend doing your research before purchasing. They are expensive but also worth it. I paid for mine when I was a student in restorative hygiene and I paid approx $2000 I believe. It was via payment plan so much easier on the credit card. Watch the video below for my loupes, and I talk about other loupes I've tried and why I didn't like them as much. Also, make sure to get the light! Yes, an extra expense, but SO worth it. Once you see the difference of what a light can do on your loupes, you will be amazed. Watch below: -Andrea Majewski - Dentalelle |
